Resident Advisor hat diese Woche schon wieder einen schönen Mix auf Lager. Passend zum Frühlingsanfang mit einer afrikanischen Musikauswahl. Wo sind eigentlich meine Amampondo Tracks? Die hab ich seit dem letzten Frühlingsbeginn auch nicht mehr gehört.
Culolethu “Culoe De Song” Zulu came to RA’s attention at last year’s Red Bull Music Academy. Armed with a list of “artists to watch,” the young South African DJ/producer was the one that stole our correspondent’s heart after a sterling DJ set of deep, Afro-inclined house at Barcelona’s Macarena club on a Sunday night.
It was the first time that Culoe had stepped outside of his home country, but it certainly won’t be the last. Since the Academy, DJs and producers around the world have started to ring up the teenager: He’s working on a remix of Reggie Dokes, has a single lined up for Innervisions and plenty of DJ performances set for later in the year in Europe.

Diese Ambient Compilation The Ambient Cookbook ist die Platte des Tages. Es ist eine wirklich schöne Zusammenstellung von Tracks, die -wie Discogs sagt- das goldene Zeitalter des Ambient repräsentierten. Na gut, goldenes Zeitalter hin oder her. Hier kannst du neben Tracks von Pete Namlook selbst auch Tracks von Tetsu Inoue, Jonah Sharp, David Moufang, Dr. Atmo und anderen hören. Die 4xCD Box ist leider wirklich teuer. Vereinzelt gibt’s aber die Tracks inzwischen schon bei Mp3-Plattformen wie 
Es gibt einen neuen Bunker Podcast. Dieses Mal mit Move D, live aufgenommen am 17. Januar bei House-n-Home Brooklyn. Yeah!
In den letzten Wochen war Omar S nahezu in allen Blogs, Mags und so. Zeit, das alles mal zusammen zu fassen. Als erstes wäre da sein aktuelles Release auf Theo Parrishs Sound Signature Label. 
Im Februar haben die Innervisions-Leute und Henrik Schwarz eine gemeinsame Mix CD auf BBE veröffentlicht. Es geht um 50 Jahre Minimal als reduzierten musikalischen Ansatz und vielleicht auch als Hinweis, dass Minimal schon lange mehr ist, als der Hype um M_nus & Co der letzten Zeit. Wer die Jungs mag, wird auch diese Compilation mögen. Auf CD 1 gibt’s einen wirklich schönen, ruhigen und zugleich spannenden Mix, der für mich hier das Glanzstück der Compilation ist. Auf CD 2 findet sich dann eine Auswahl an minimalen Einzelstücken, welche dort -zusammen gesucht aus 50 Jahren Musikgeschichte- ungemixt für sich stehen. Dieses angestaubte
